Irmela van der Bijl Mysen is a lawyer and specialist adviser in anti-corruption, business ethics and human rights. She assists companies with the operationalization of legal requirements in accordance with Norwegian criminal law, the UK Bribery Act, the US FCPA, and the new Transparency Act.
In the Council on Ethics for the Norwegian Pension Fund Global (Oil Fund), Irmela was responsible for investigating corruption cases. This includes gathering facts in a number of countries around the world, assessing the effectiveness of companies' measures to prevent corruption (Compliance programs), and dialogue with management.
Irmela was Senior Compliance Officer at Statkraft and Chief Compliance Officer at Aker Energy AS with responsibility for the company's Compliance program. She also led the work with internal reporting and handling of adverse events in the company.
